Search the AALRC Library

The goal of the Arkansas Adult Learning Resource Center is to provide Arkansas Adult Education and Literacy Programs with materials through which educators can develop professionally and prepare for their training tasks.

The library itself contains approximately 2,500 lending items. Educators can find books, videos, audiotapes, compact discs, magazines, auxiliary aids, and "kits" (which include combinations of books, videos and/or audio-tapes). The library further provides materials accommodating individuals with learning disabilities.

The library resources are classified into the following categories:

  • Assessment
  • Crossroads Cafe / ESL
  • English
  • ESL
  • Family Literacy
  • Fiction
  • GED
  • Health Care
  • Leadership / Motivation
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Life Skills
  • Literacy
  • Math / Financial Literacy
  • Professional Development
  • Reading
  • Reference not for check-out
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Software (CD ROMs, Audiotapes)
  • Spanish

Currently, educators are welcome to order resources via phone. The Media Coordinator then sends out the requested resources. The materials are due one month from the date checked-out. In the near future, all materials will be searchable on this web site.

The AALRC library also has a license to order materials directly from the Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic for any Arkansas Adult Education or Literacy Program. If your program needs to accommodate participants in this specific area through four track tape recorders, books on audiotape or CD, please contact the Media Coordinator (klaus@aalrc.org) for further assistance.
