Numeracy Campaign

Teaching Math Effectively to Adult Learners

Funded by a three-year grant from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation and the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education, Adult Education Section.

∆ ÷ ≥ × ≈ ≠ % ≤

This grant is to provide a program of professional development to every adult educator in Arkansas, equip them with new methods of instruction and thereby enhance the way mathematics is taught and learned in all adult classrooms.

The Numeracy Campaign is a series of workshops that are based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards. Each participant will attend a class once a month for 5 months beginning in January and ending in May. When the class is completed, each instructor will receive a teacher set of manipulatives and visual mathematics materials.
